The Health & Population Department Punjab has announced a new internship programme under the Directorate of Drugs Control, aimed at providing practical training opportunities to PharmD students and graduates across the province.

According to the official announcement, the programme is open to a wide range of candidates from public sector universities in Punjab. Eligible applicants include final-year students or those awaiting results, PharmD graduates who have completed their degrees within the past two years, and individuals holding MPhil or master’s degrees within two years of post-graduation.

Officials stated that the initiative is designed to enhance professional skills, provide hands-on experience, and prepare young pharmacists for careers in regulatory, clinical, and pharmaceutical sectors. The Directorate of Drugs Control will oversee the internship, offering exposure to real-world practices in drug regulation and public health systems.

Applicants are required to complete the process online through the official portal. Authorities have emphasised that only online applications will be accepted, and candidates must ensure that their profiles are fully completed and all required documents are uploaded before submission.

The deadline to apply for the internship programme is May 12, 2026, with the submission window closing at midnight. Officials have advised interested candidates to apply well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues.

The programme reflects the government’s broader efforts to strengthen the healthcare workforce by equipping young professionals with relevant skills and practical knowledge. It also aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements.

By offering structured training opportunities, the initiative is expected to support career development for pharmacy graduates while contributing to improved healthcare services and regulatory standards in the province.
